Fassett Fellowship awarded to Camila Brito

Soprano Camila Brito is a Rhode Island native with a passion for the musical arts. She has been a singer and trumpet player since elementary school. During her junior year of high school, she placed 2nd in All-State soprano rankings and rose to 1st place during her senior year. She has played trumpet with the All-State Band and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Wind Ensemble. A recent Music on the Hill scholarship winner, Camila has been awarded several other music scholarships and is currently pursuing a music performance degree at Rhode Island College.

In the future, Camila hopes to inspire other young people to love classical music, and to inspire them by demonstrating that it is an approachable reality.

The Fassett Fellowship Fund was established to encourage and support talented young singers. Named for Charles Fassett, the Providence Singers' first artistic director, it reflects and continues his dedication to music education.
