THE HOPE OF LOVING, May 30-31, 2026

Meet the Musicians

Liam DeRosa is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance at the Eastman School of Music, where he studies with Masumi Per Rostad and performs frequently on both modern and baroque instruments. His mother, Brianne DeRosa, serves as Soprano Section Leader for the Providence Singers, and he is thrilled to be joining them this season after growing up attending their concerts. Liam performs regularly as a chamber and orchestral musician, and has spent summers at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute; Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra, with which he performed at Carnegie Hall and toured South America; the Ascent International Viola Festival; and the Bowdoin International Music Festival, where he will return this summer. Awards and Honors include prizes and scholarships from the Anthony Quinn Foundation, YoungArts, and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School's Concerto Competition. Liam was the inaugural first prize winner of Music on the Hill's Scholarship Competition, and will be returning to their festival this summer as part of their ensemble.
