The first rehearsal for IN HARMONY, an after-school choir for high school singers, is Monday, February 6 from 3:30-5:00 at the Blackstone Academy Charter School in Pawtucket.
We've got a great team, with Mike Carnaroli leading out as music director and Luna Abréu-Santana as assistant conductor and chorus manager. In addition, three music education majors--Angela Mitsuma, Robert Allen, and Louis Shriber--will be joining as section leaders, providing strong voices and good vocal models to help the students learn the music.
And the music is great! Broadway hits (Hamilton), movies (Encanto), and other fun to sing selections.
IN HARMONY offers a high-level choral experience to both beginning and experienced singers. This program is being offered free of charge, thanks to generous support from the Papitto Opportunity Connection and the June Rockwell Levy Foundation. Everything is included--tuition, music, folders, tee shirts for the spring performance, and pre-rehearsal snacks.
If you know someone who might be interested, there's still time for them to get involved. We will be taking new members until February 20th. Here's a link with more information and a registration form:
