Why I sing
Allison McMillan | Soprano
There is nothing like choral singing. The harmony when the overtones line up, the resolutions that are timed to feel just right, the pulsed rhythms, the texts that add meaning, the all-in connection with singers and conductors to create something of profound beauty. That’s why I sing. It gives me great joy and the chance to keep learning with every piece we sing.
“The orchestra was joined by the Providence Singers for the last movement, the so-called ‘Ode to Joy,’ which was one of the more moving moments in the Philharmonic’s season. The Singers sounded terrific.”
