Meet the staff for the 2019 JPS

Paulette LaParle

Music Director Paulette LaParle joined the Barrington High School faculty in 1981, where she initiated the Choral Ensemble, an award-winning choir, and the Electronic Music course, a state-of-the-art technology class. As an active member of the Rhode Island Music Educators National Conference and the American Choral Directors Association, Paulette served as choral manager for the Junior and Senior All-State Festivals and state chair for Tri-M, the music honors society formerly known as Modern Music Masters. She received the Olmsted Prize for Superior Teaching from Williams College in 2005 and Barrington Public School’s Nominee for National Teacher of the Year 2006. She was a semifinalist for honors as Rhode Island Teacher of the Year 2006 and was named to the 2011 Rhode Island College Alumni Honor Roll. She has also conducted the University Chorus at the University of Rhode Island. Paulette is currently an adjunct music professor at Rhode Island College and Providence College.
