The Vets is one block north of the Providence Place Mall, and one block west of the Rhode Island State Capitol.
From the North
Follow I-95 to Exit 22c. This puts you directly onto Promenade Street. Follow Promenade Street until the Providence Place Mall parking garage is directly in front of you. The cross street is Park Street. Turn left onto Park, then right at the first light onto Hayes Street. Take the next left onto Francis Street.
From the South
Follow I-95 north to Exit 23 (State Offices). Bear right toward the state offices. Stay in the middle lane of the exit and continue straight through traffic light on to State Street. At the next light, turn right onto Smith Street (Route 44). The Rhode Island State Capitol building will be on your left with parking on your right. At the next light, turn left on to Francis Street. The Vets and the Avenue of the Arts Plaza will be on your right.
Due to construction of the Vets’ new lobby extension and stage access, Park Street is closed to both cars and pedestrians between the Providence Place Mall Garage (Hayes Street) and Avenue of the Arts. Park Street is further limited to one lane of northbound traffic from Avenue of the Arts to Smith Street. Construction detours are anticipated throughout the entire 2012-13 season. Please allow extra time.
The Vets has plenty of free [P] or low-cost paid [P] parking. For evening events, state parking lots across from the Capitol are usually open free of charge. Other state lots are available north of Smith Street on Park Street. Parking is available on Smith, Park, Francis and Gaspee Streets, and the Providence Place Mall parking garage, one block south, is inexpensive for a three-hour stay.
