The 30th Concert Season of the Providence Singers
To accommodate a planned sabbatical for the 2001-2002 academic year, Artistic Director Julian Wachner designed a season that would begin with a gala 30th anniversary concert in VMA Arts and Cultural Center and then feature a series of guest conductors. Carlyle Sharpe’s Proud Music of the Storm, commissioned by The Singers for its 30th season, became a great favorite and has had several performances since, by orchestras and choruses in Boston, Montreal and San Diego. |
